In the next few months, we’ll be testing variations requested by customers – different power ratings, different operation points and more – and we’ll see how those perform. We’re building, testing and delivering a steady stream of PMM2000s this year. The next milestone is seeing how it performs in the vessel. We’re very pleased to have this first PMM2000 delivery on its way to the shipbuilder. Others were ready to move to the other side of the globe! People are very committed to this project and have put in great effort. The different teams monitored each stage closely. Great teamwork at The Switch made it happen. ![]() And the testing itself proceeded very smoothly and on schedule, to everyone’s satisfaction. The purpose-built equipment – such as the integration and test benches – functioned just as designed. Matti Nikkinen, Vice President of Operations, adds, “There were no deviations compared to design values.” Jonne says, “It’s a magnificent and huge machine. The PMM2000 performed flawlessly under testing. Combining the customer’s very converters into our test system with such large electric machines took a lot of planning and execution time. The shortages of materials created by the war in Ukraine presented more difficulties.Īnd the string test itself presented challenges. “We were working with a new machine type and size, so it was more or less impossible to know how much time each step would take.”Īs a result, we had to keep a close eye on the schedule and the costs. So basically, bolts and nuts are the only components that can be lifted without an overhead crane,” explains Jonne Härkänen, Senior Factory Manager at the LDTC. First was the handling of these very large machines. Testing challenges all metīoth the initial back-to-back factory acceptance testing (FAT) and the customer string testing were carried out at the Large Drive Test Center (LDTC) in Lappeenranta, Finland. The first one passed its customer string test in January 2023 with flying colors and is now on its way to the shipyard. The Powerstik Pro makes it easy for workers to get into places that would otherwise be difficult to access, creating a situation where the work isnt avoided due to the hassle, resulting in the site being left cleaner after the work is done. These giant permanent magnet machines meet the pressing need for more power and torque in shaft generator applications. Bending over to pick up stray nails and screws left over under decks, behind bushes or other obstacles after any construction or roofing job is a pain that can easily cause hazardous metal debris to be left behind for a customer or homeowner to find later. The Powerstik Pro is not meant to replace rolling magnets for cleaning yards, but it can supplement existing clean-up tools to more easily include tight spaces otherwise inaccessible to heavier rolling/push magnets. The Powerstik Pro magnetic sweeper is a perfect addition to any roofing crews arsenal of magnetic clean-up tools. Once the Quick Clean Off Sleeve is fully worn out, replacements can be ordered. The sleeve has alignment holes on all sides which gives you 4 injection molded surfaces to wear down before the sleeve needs to be replaced, this extends the life of the tool and keeps your hands away from the often-sharp metal debris stuck to the Super Blue magnets. ![]() The second is to serve as a wear surface to prevent the aluminum housing from being scraped away on hard surfaces. The first is to clear debris from the magnet housing more easily than using a hand or rag. ![]() The new Quick Clean Off Sleeve included on both the Powerstik Pro & Powerstik Pro Elite models serves two functions. The included Quick Clean Off Sleeve helps keep the metal contained by easily dumping debris into a bucket at the press of a button and slide of the sleeve. The Powerstik series was designed to get into and around obstacles like bushes and flowers in a garden, this lets you get complete coverage when cleaning up after a roofing job. Even when metal debris in a lawn or garden isnt visible, there is often debris stuck out of sight in the grass or plants. The Pro Elite will therefore grab and hold onto more debris than the Pro before it needs to be cleaned off and the Pro model will grab and hold onto more debris than the original Powerstik. The Pro Elite models aluminum housing is fully packed with Super Blue magnets, this further increases the maximum pickup height and greatly improves the holding power. 12" Sweeping Width, 4.3 lbs weight, 50.5-55" Overall Height, 3.25" Max Pickup Height, Quick Clean Off Sleeve, Extendable Grip The new Powerstik Pro & Pro Elite models are packed with our Super Blue rare earth magnet system, the Pro model is packed with ½ tall magnet blocks, giving it great pickup performance and a massive increase in power compared to the original ceramic powered Powerstik as shown on the graph.
